The Nature Conservancy and Schneider Electric, both members of ISEN’s executive council, have joined the Climate Leadership Council (CLC).
The CLC is an international policy institute whose mission is to mobilize global opinion leaders around a carbon dividends framework as the most cost-effective, equitable, and politically viable climate solution. The Council works in collaboration with leaders in business, opinion, and the environment.
“There are no borders to carbon. It is our duty to fight climate change triggered by carbon emissions. This means cutting our emissions 50 percent by 2050, by being three times more energy efficient. We must act now for a better future,” said Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric.
Both companies were among more than two dozen corporations, nonprofits, and distinguished individuals to sign on as founding members of the CLC.
“Climate change is already impacting our communities, our economy, and our environment, and those impacts will continue to grow and become worse if we don’t act now. We can’t afford to wait to have these conversations,” said Mark Tercek, CEO of The Nature Conservancy in an official press release.
